Converting Garage to Simulator Room / Pool House - Need Advice!

Hello All,
I'm converting my roughly 17 foot wide x 21 foot deep detached garage into a sim room / pool room, as the garage is right next to the pool.

A few questions.
1) Has anyone put in video replay capability to their sim? I'm thinking something to what I've heard 5 Iron golf (https://fiveirongolf.com/) has. I can take a swing and immediately see a video replay of it.
2) Any other best practices when making it a pool house?
3) Anything to think about being based in St. Louis, MO with some colder winters?
4) Anything else! I'm in the early stages of looking at this project, but have started taking some of the initial steps talking to contractors. It's exciting times!

Hi I am just finishing doing the same on my 21x12 1930's garage. It serves as our pool cabana, with fridge, supplies and AV. Just finishing sheetrocking it now

I think I’m going to remove the garage door and replace it with carriage doors so I can use the overhead space for swinging.

Look up Kinovea for the instant replays. There's a few posts on it here. Ex. My setup I'd have 2 kinovea sessions open with 1 recording on delay with sound at impact telling it when to stop and the 2nd kinovea set to autoplay the newest video. Then I have ontopreplica keeping the 2nd kinovea screen on top of my golfing software

I like that idea… are there cameras that work better with Kinovea? I’d like to go high FPS, but it seems like prices start skyrocketing past 240. Any recommendations there?

Kinovea has a recommended camera list on their site.

Anything past 240fps is not that beneficial for a golf swing use case wise. Spend the extra money on a high end desktop and lots of great lighting. Cheap cameras with great lighting will look a lot better than expensive cameras with poor lighting.

Stlcardinals08 good idea on removing the garage door, that's what I did, here's my Sim Build link:

The first thing I did in my post above was remove the garage door

Go in and use Gussett Panels - like this. Go as High as you can span a 8 ft long 2x6 mount flush with existing joist/Truss and the wrap each side with sheet of 1/2inch plywood - both sides. Do at 8 foot to max height as to be able to use 8 ft sheets of ply wood. bigger and your screwed. Gotta do both sides to for strength to keep truss joist from spreading out and also do a king truss in middle from top of new truss to tip of roof.

I did not do gusset panels on my garage that I redid the roof on. I might before winter. My garage only is 11ft wide
