Best Sound for Sim Build

Any feedback on implementing sound with sim build?

Ceiling mount projector.

Do you generally just go with a sound bar and subwoofer? Like Sonos? Mount the soundbar behind the projector?

Depending on image quality, I might double my sim as a home theater, so maybe 5.1 surround? (throw some bean bags on the turf and pretend you're at the outdoor movies.

tback - I put in this Vizio 5.1 Surround sound bar:

You can read and see where I placed the center speaker (behind my screen - instead of behind the projector), my rear speakers are behind the projector (actually at same distance), and my powered subwoofer is on floor left side of my simulator (behind me as I swing). I used this sound bar combo as it did everything I wanted economically and sounds really great playing music off my iPhone while I'm in the Simulator. It's been great so far... the only thing you have to watch out for is if you're running Simulator software on your Tablet (E6 or Garmin Home Tee Hero or Range) and your projector is receiving a mirrored image, it's also trying to broadcast that same audio to your sound bar, so have to make sure the tablet does not 'see', so 'Forget this device' in bluetooth your device.

You could also try a Sonos - and that would do a great job too - I just did not have the power to do that and wanted to keep my 'amp draw' or 'current draw' to a minimum as my Simulator is in a separate building.

I went with a soundbar setup for my golf sim and I do use it for watching movies as well.

Thanks GoHandBZ8, where did you locate your soundbar? above hitting area or behind screen?

The sound bar is above the screen. Sub is behind the screen at the corner.
