  • Best material for preserving a lightweight net?

I hit into a net in my garage, and use a 55" TV to the side as the screen. Unfortunately nets are "meh" at best and tend to get holes over time. To boot, my net is supported by two flexible posts from the ground, made to give a little bit at impact and absorb some of the energy. Any idea on a lightweight material that will be durable enough to not rip, but not so heavy that it will weigh down my primary net supports?

I've used old bed sheets in the past and it seems that cotton does absolutely terrible. Polyester or other lightweight sheets surprisingly held up the best, but before I go spending money on something, I'd like to see if anyone knows something that will hold up better than other materials?

Just thought I would share my experience with something I tried. When building my enclosure I went with a 10x9 size. Ordered a 10x10 impact screen from Supertex. It's very rigid and durable, but also has a slight waffle pattern to it. So I added a polyester photo drop screen in front of the impact, I know most people do this

Check this thread. There's a couple options in here that people are using over their screens.

Archery netting. It works awesome. Bryson DeChambeau could not put a hole through it. You can get a 10'0 x 10'0 panel for under $150.00.

I cut out 3x3 net scraps and use white twist ties to put the scrap in my heaviest impact zone. When it's worn I cut off twist ties and redo. I hit so many wedges with beaten balls that this sacrificial method has been the most effective for me
