  • Mounting Sportscreen on a split garage ceiling with 2 different heights

I am mounting a retractable 16' Sportscreen & am looking for ideas on how to mount the right side. My garage ceiling is 9.5' on the left side and 10.5' on the right. I can easily mount the left on the ceiling. For the right side, I was thinking of creating something using angle iron in a V-shape (used on garage doors) so I can mount it at the same height as the left. Although this seems like it will be really tough to get it at the exact same height.

Someone mentioned Steeltek fittings which may work but I also wanted to see if anyone done this and can provide advice? I searched thoroughly and could not find anything similar. Thanks!

Barring someone else coming in with a fancier solution, my suggestion is to proceed with the garage bracket idea for the higher ceiling but err on the side of it being too long, since you can always trim it.

Then use wood shaved down on a table saw to the appropriate thickness to buff up the ceiling mounting bracket(s) on the lower section so it's level. i.e. if you're 1/4" short on the 9'5" portion, add a 1/4", though nobody is going to notice 1/4" over that distance.

Oh that is a good idea. I had not considered adjusting the lower mount but it makes a ton of sense if I need to get it level. Thanks for the suggestion.
