  • Need Some Advice

Need some advice on the best connections/ports. I have the EYE XO, Uneekor Swing Optix Cameras, Dell Alienware Aurora R12 computer, Dell 55 4K Conference Room Monitor – C5519Q and BenQ lu935st projector. Looking for advice on the optimal way to connect/integrate these. Which ports to use on the R12 and monitor to include what type of connector/USB cables. This is a bit overwhelming and would truly appreciate your support.

Hard to give absolute specifics since I don't know what options you have with the R12

Could you share the specific specs on the R12 computer.

Specifically, what Video Card did it come with?
Does it have onboard WIFI or only ethernet?

I'll give you my thoughts based on what I would expect to be standard...

Graphics card has at least 1 HDMI and 1 or more Display ports... For this I would recommend you connect your projector using the HDMI Port and I would connect the Dell 55 4K monitor using the DVI port and a DVI Cable...

HDMI Cable look like this - https://www.amazon.com/CableDirect-H...NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Display port Cables look like this - https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-B...NsaWNrPXRydWU=

For the internet - the UNEEKOR MUST connect to the ethernet port of the computer (This is the network jack in the back of the computer), which means for your computer to connect to the internet you will need to use the onboard WIFI

The Swing Optics cameras are USB Based so you can plug those into the back of the R12 in the USB 3.0 ports (These would be #12 in the picture included)

This is my best guess based on what I could find about the standard R12 computer, but if you have specifics on the video card that could change...also if it doesn't hive wifi (I doubt it) then you would need an additional Network card

    Hope this helps...

From a cursory review of the specs on the R12, it appears to have standard 3x display port and 1x hdmi. It also looks like your projector doesn't have a display port but your monitor (Dell C5519Q) does. In that case and unless you want to get adapters, you'll want to use your one HDMI to feed your projector either directly or through a receiver (if you're using one) and then display port to your monitor.

I believe the swing optix cameras are connected via USB so get long enough USB cables. Perhaps someone makes a wireless USB option but I personally have no experience with one.

As luckypete said, the EyeXO must be connected to the native network card on the PC in order to properly function. There are also software firewall requirements that may come into play but don't worry about those, you can contact support and get someone to help you if it doesn't work when you set it up. I have had wonderful experience with uneekor support.

As commented above the Uneekor plugs into the Ethernet port. You can also use a USB-Ethernet adaptor to get an Ethernet internet connection as opposed to using the PC wifi.

Yes, but I have seen a couple of issues with older motherboard USB controllers not being able to handle the bandwidth of two high-speed cameras and LAN connections. It gets even worse if the user has something like a USB hard drive or other connected devices. This is one of the big reasons Swing Catalyst recommends a PCI USB card to offload the bandwidth and ensure there are no dropped frames in the recording and it's the same reason Uneekor does not want you to connect to the LM using the USB/LAN dongle.

The R12 has a Z490 chipset so it shouldn't be an issue and I think any decent motherboard within the last couple of years should be fine. Just be aware you can't plug in an unlimited number of high-bandwidth devices, at some point you will run out of piping for the information.

I think I am a little envious of all this nice hardware minus the PC... I really want an LK936ST...

Gents appreciate the advice. Sam what PC would you prefer?

I can’t really say. I build my own PCs. I would look into iBuy Power or CyberPC. I just do not like the Alienware brand. I think Dell bought it and price hiked it.

              Specs are fine though.
