Frame size for screen

I am building a frame for my screen. It’s a Carls, I’ll be using bungee balls. My question is how much extra space do I need on each side? I am thinking 2-3 inches. Thoughts?

2-3 inches iis perfect. I have about 2” and it works great.

Just got my Carl's pro enclosure...and yup I have about 3 inches on each side...

Not quite done hanging the screen yet...

Quick question...for padding (other than the wedges they provided) what do you guys use for the front and top poles? they're 2 inch EMT so I am assuming 2 inch pipe insulation would work, but not sure if the flaps on the enclosure can wrap around those and still hook onto the top...Might have to have the foams on the outside...

any thoughts???
