  • Foam board insulation under turf??

Hi all, new guy here. I have lurked around and picked up some good info from you guys on trying to put together my sim.

I bought a Sigpro Softy hitting strip based on some recommendations for joint safety/comfort. Only issue is that it is 2 3/8” thick. I want to put putting turf on my entire floor and would like for everything to be flush/level. I can’t seem to find gym mats 1.5 or 2” thick. I am thinking about 1.5” hard foam insulation panels with 1/2” carpet pad on top, then a 3/8” putting turf. Does anyone have thoughts or concerns on the rigid foam board?

Have you guys tried either .75”, 1” or 2” durospan insulation boards under .75 Sonopan panels? I would prob switch out the sonopan boards with .75” eva foam just in the stance area.

I feel like the foam insulation boards would be a good cushioned feel, where as the wood fibre board will give a flat surface for a good roll, as well as a muted landing from the ball.

i use a sigpro softy hitting strip next to a diy stance mat, they sit level with each other.

Rukket 5'x5' hitting mat (already had)

2" rigid foam insulation board- cut to fit the rukket. adhered with wood glue (some glues will disintegrate the foam board)

I had to to make the foam board more durable prevent wear and tear (retractable garage set up that needs taken down every use) i used "48-in x 96-in Smooth White Hardboard Marker Board Wall Panel" from lowes. adhered with wood glue. and to make it not slide i used non slip rug mat from amazon. stapled to the bottom https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MEZ77JG...sin_title&th=1

Ive used this stance mat for almost 2 months and haven't had an issue.
