Completed the framing aspect of my basement sim, see dimensions attached. Had basement dug down a foot so ceilings in the pit is at 10ft. The straight line on the left, thats 18'4", will be open to the rest of the basement. Was planning on putting a curtain along that side. I have the uneekor Eye Xo and would like to hit from the center. I have money putt turf and gung ho strip. The start of the strip will be 7ft from the screen. My concern now is where the beam was framed on the left side. From the bottom of the framed beam to the top of the turf, it will be roughly 8'9". I am worried that right handed hitters may hit this. For me, its not a problem when I swing. I do have a couple buddies that are lefties so would like to be as centered as possible. Anyone hit from the center of a 14ft wide room? Do you think the beam will be a problem? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It depends on the right-handed golfer's height and the follow-through with driver/fw's. The only way to know for sure is to put down some masking tape on the floor where the hitting strip would be and where the stance mat/area would be for a right-handed golfer. Get a broomstick or driver with a head cover on and take a slow-motion swing. Perhaps video it with your phone and determine what your margin is. Have u considered turning the setup around and going in the opposite direction so that the golfers hit from the wider part of the room? Also at 14' wide wondering if you would want to have another foot of distance to the hitting area.Comment

I have thought about going the opposite way, but there is a seating area and bathroom behind the current layout. If I flip the hitting direction, it would make a useless space behind the screenAttached FilesComment

The ductwork is not relevant, it is actually a steel I-Beam that would get hit as the ductwork will be nested against that beam.Comment

OP, the space is what it is. 14’ may well work or it may be an issue (real or perceived). You may need to look into a small slider rail for the Uneekor so the hitting area because 3-4’ wide inside of 12” wide.Comment
