  • Enclosure with 2x4 lumber

    Hello All,

Has anyone attempted using 2x4's and screw in hooks for an enclosure? I see EMT is popular, but each 10ft piece is $20, compared to $4 for a 2x4. The hooks add a little cost, but they are only about $1.50 each, maybe less. The EMT corner connectors run $8 to $10 each.

Yes. I have. I used 6” bungees cords to attach a screen. Worked fine.

I built my frame from wood as well. Works like a charm and easy to modify or move as desired. Pro tip if you go this way - Start your eye-hook into the wood, then install a larger Allen Key into a cordless drill to screw the eye-hooks into the wood. Will save your fingertips!

      Good Luck!
