  • Do I heave enough space

Hi I’m looking to just get started on a home build. I have a shed in the backyard. Dimensions are 15.5’ depth, 11.5’ width, and 10’ tall ceilings that vault up more to about 12’. Do I have enough space for a enclosure and projector setup?I’ve had people say yes and no. I’d love to make this area work, ideally with screen and projector over a net and tv option or something like that. Which launch monitor woukd wirknwith the space? I believe skytrak is best option maybe the new rapsodo ? Thanks

You should be able to make it work. You might have to bias your setup in one direction. You won't get a 16:10 or 16:9 aspect ratio, but could possibly do 4:3 with a 8 x 10.5 carls place impact screen. You should be able to fit the pipe frames in your space, or use 2x4's with eye hooks to hold the screen up. I would stick with a camera based LM since your space is limited. I'm not sure if a mevo+ or other radar based units would have enough room. You have a lot of overhead space, so I would suggest a overhead system. The EyeXO is great, but if it's too pricey you could do a QED or one of the new Protee systems.

Thanks is yeah I was thinking the Carls place 8.5 x 10 enclosure might work, someone else said maybe a sig pro net with screen? But for the launch monitor I’m trying to keep it under that I can’t afford those options. Hoping maybe a skytrak or the new mlm pro 2 may work.

I think the new rapsodo is only like $700, considerably cheaper than a skytrack. It also looks like it would just fit in your space. You are supposed to use special Callaway balls to get the spin data, but that doesn't seem like a bad trade off. To me this seems like the way to go just because of the price. There is the risk of this product being super new, so it will likely have a bug or two that can hopefully be fixed with firmware/software updates. Lastly, it's still not available yet. Not sure what your timeline is.

There is a lot of history with the skytrack, and most seem happy with the product.

You would probably be happy with either one, and it will give you an idea if you like sim golf.
