So finally got a buddy to help me to hang the sportscreen correctly. We attached the idler side with a 2x4 blocker and the gear end fell between studs so we spanned those studs w/ 2x4. From there I bought brackets that are intended for granite countertops and drilled an extra hole to fit a 2nd machine screw. Didn't need the wood screws that it comes with and feel that this does the same thing as those aluminum brackets that sportscreen sells on their website. Next thing is for the garage door opener to be converted to side mount and everything else is ready. Here are some pics of the screen installed and more pics to come as I finish up!
