Just started this weekend with my build. any thoughts/concerns/tips about it would be greatly appreciated:
Started off planning on using the 3rd car garage but because of the side walls, i needed to go from the 2 car into the 3rd car. my platform is 8 feet wide by 20 feet long. the back 3 feet are a ball tray idea i came up with. My mevo + will be further back attached to a shelf on the wall.
I have 7'2" between the mevo and the tee, and 10'10" from tee to screen.
the ball tray idea is pic 2, i will be hitting to the left in the pic, this tray is 3/4 lower then the top of the foam, so i can just brush all the balls to the back of the platform when im cleaning up. I will have a sloped piece that will allow me to drag a ball to my hitting strip..
PIc 3 is the foam being put down. i used 1/2 foam purchased from amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7PDXHQJ...roduct_details
Pic 4 is the netting application. I used:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...TZXWNO06&psc=1
There is stil a good amount of work to do. I will be hitting balls towards the camera.
The plan is to use the 1x1s in the back to line the outline of the platform so balls dont roll off.
so far the hardest part was getting the platform level which i did with shims all over the place. my garage has some pretty decent of slope from right to left.
I plan on getting one of the screens from carls. with netting and blanket behind it. I will then cover the whole enclosure with blackout curtains. I will have a spotlight slight in front of me directed away from the screen.
I will have a 3x10 putting strip in the middle.
I was going to lay down a layer of putting green/felt across the whole area, but thats going to be waaay too expensive, so it looks like just the putting surface for now.
Throwing this out there because it seems like the next parts (Screen mount, projector mount) seem to be the make or break part of a sim build. Please let me know what you think so far or what ideas worked for you.
Thanks in advance.
