  • Started my shop simulator build

Well got the shop rearranged and began frame assembly. Using 1” emt with a center brace. Frame will be 120” x 196” x 100” deep. Center post on top for extra bracing if needed. Back vertical posts will be strapped to the wall. Hitting area will be 16’-17’ from screen.

Back section to hide two large speakers and two panel center speakers.

Hitting area 16’ from screen? Holy smokes, that’s going to result in many shots hitting ceiling before screen.

Was going to say the same thing - that is really far back. Not only do you risk (or guarantee) a lot of shots hitting the roof of the cage, I might suggest you risk hitting outside the cage left or right depending on the miss.

Generally 8-12 feet is the recommendation with 9-10 really being the sweet spot for most folks. YMMV.

im curious, at your recommendation of distance to screen, whats the minimum depth for the enclosure to avoid balls going over?

edit: assuming screen is 8ft tall

So I my hitting area is now 13 ft. Full Lob wedge does hit top, added padding and reinforced. So Far so good. Thanks for advice.

ID:	389623 Well, I am getting there, add some padding in the corners and build up a floor for hitting and putting surface. Making the panels for enclosure was pretty smooth process, bought tarps and HH-66 glue from amazon. Stuff is amazing. Used grommets on back side to attach and greenhouse clips for the front. The hitting area will be 13-14 ft from screen, after 20 shots I am happy with distance. May move the spotlights so they’re more over to of hitting area, will see after a few months of use.

The ES Tour Pro launch monitor was working great till I found out GSPro was not working (buggy). So it looks like I will move up to the Eye-Mini. My budget was 15k, looks like 21k is going to be the final. It’s only fun when you spend it right?
