Spectrum Golf - Review
Design and Part Selection - Good Chip figured out what I needed for the space and provided suggestions. It all agreed with research that I did myself.
Shipping/Packaging - Poor The box was coming apart and some EMT was sticking out of the side. Everything was just thrown in the large box on top of each other. The screen was allowed to rub against other items and was damaged. Both sides of the screen had black marks from the Sharpie marker that was used to label the panels. More on this issue later.
Instructions - Poor Many contradictions and pictures that don't show the real parts that I received. It looks like they tried to cover all possible versions in one document, which made it very confusing.
Support - Poor Took many days to get any reply over email. Emails were always hastily and carelessly written. More contradictions to the instructions and information on the website.
Materials - OK The sides, top and back panel were well built and work well. The edge pockets in the screen were way too small for the suggested mounting technique, had to improvise. The stops/welds in the EMT fittings were not consistent, which made it more difficult to get the frame square and adjusted.
Price - Fair
The biggest issue was the damage to the screen during shipping. Chip suggested ways to clean it, which I tried, but they were not effective at removing the marks. One side was completely not usable, as it had many marks in the middle. After some discussion, Chip decided that he would just refund me $125, even though I did not agree to that amount. He sent it to me and considers the matter closed. I can only use 1 side of the screen and the other side also has marks on it. After the cleaning did not work, he should have immediately sent me a new screen. Terrible service and no accountability.
Overall - Poor Due to the lack of support or proper compensation on the damaged screen, I don't recommend dealing with Chip or Spectrum Golf or virtual-golf-simulator.
