  • Ideas for Protecting Wall Mounted TV and PC

I have 5 feet of side protection on each side of my 10 foot wide setup. Because of garage rails (which I don't want to raise), my hitting strip is right centered and I sometimes get balls bouncing back beyond the side protection. On the right garage wall, I have a TV and below that is where I put my laptop.

I want to put something parallel to the front, a couple of feet beyond the end of the side protection to protect the TV and laptop from damage from bounce back. Has anyone had this problem? Do you have any ideas on what to do to protect the TV and laptop (short of moving them to another part of the garage)? Is there some sort of 18 inch wide by 7 foot high vertical protection? I guess I could do an 18 inch wide curtain but I'm wondering if there are other options

I am not sure I understand your situation. Are you saying you nave bounce-back off your screen with enough speed to be concerned about a wall mounted tv on a side wall or are you hitting something else in your installation? I have a 60" TV mounted on the wall directly in front of my hitting position and have never had a ball come anywhere close to this. Mostly they drop back down with maybe enough energy to get back to my hitting position very slowly - usually I need to walk forward to gather the balls.

I haven't had any damage yet but have had some reasonably close calls. I am about 8 feet from my screen and because I am aligned right, balls do bounce back with some force to the right and given the sensitivity of LCD screens I am a little worried about damage to the wall mounted TV.

By way of background, if my hitting position was more centered, there would be nothing to worry about. The problem is that I can't align closer to the center without raising my garage door rails (at least for hitting driver). I know putting a pool noodle over the rail is another idea but that would add to my conversion time. I'd prefer to keep the right alignment if I can..

I am also playing with the screen tension to lessen the bounceback and have removed the corner sealing velcro strip that came with my convertible kit. I am also considering attaching a mattress topper to the back of the retractable screen. This would work because I only retract it halfway when I pull my car into the garage. I have to figure out how to attach the mattress topper though..

Same situation here. No problem with center hit balls. Offset right sends them flying back. That’s with only two bungees per side and back padding behind the screen. Not awful, but definitely have seen this as the screen is more taut at the side.
