  • Another garage sim with raised ceiling

Been a long work in progress because of all my other home construction.

My goal was to stuff a 14' wide sim in the garage, along with my gym and office. So far, so good.

Office/podcast area is pretty much finished, and as soon as the Sim is done, I'll start finishing the gym. The laundry will all be out of the garage as soon as the new laundry room is finished. Until then, I can still use the SIM, it's just annoying.

I'll post progress pics as I finish up.

    These are my rough drafts

Drywalled, taped, and lights installed. Added an outlet at the beam for projector and spotlight since I'm using a quad.

Built a ceiling for the enclosure and insulated behind the screen

Onnit impact board/sound proofing will cover the entire ceiling and about 8' back on each wall.

Ceiling and most of the sides are done. Waiting for flooring and I'll probably install the pendant light and projector this week.

I raised a 7 ft ceiling to 10.5 ft using Gusset panels to insure pressure stayed going vertical down the sides of walls. You can see the joists at 7 ft before I took them out.

It looks great! Could you share what panels you purchased? I saw you said Onnit but it looks like they only do custom solutions. Was there a way to buy just material?

Honestly, I am not sure about the details on how to order them. I purchased the from par2pro and they specd them out for me. It seems like they are a stock option now as opposed to custom, as they came with instructions and installation parts.
