projector placement

Is a projector placed 3 feet behind hitting area, ceiling mount, in the direct line, to far back? Will this create a shadow? Looking at BenQ TK700STi. Thanks for help...

My TK700STi is 4' behind my hitting area with no issues. But this question comes down to actual mounting height and your height. Best way to do it is the low-tech graph paper method. Just draw out the side profile of your room to scale on graph paper, put in a line for you where you stand (to scale), and draw the lines of where the projector will be passing through. Easy Peasy and then you know the answer 100%
