    Garage Simulator Projector Help

Hi, I am working on my first garage simulator. I am limited to a screen size of 87”h x 116”w (7.7’x10’ enclosure from Carl’s). My plan is to hit ~9-10’ from screen. I’ll be using a Skytrak for the time being. I am having trouble determining which projector and mounting location will work the best.

    ceiling height 9’
max distance I can mount from screen 14’.

I was planning to go behind hitting area on the ceiling, but worried about shadow. Need to work that out.

I’ve used projector central and there’s not much that I see meets my 12-14’ distance that is reasonable in price. Also concerned about brightness that far away in the garage. Would that be an issue?

I was looking at shorter throws to ceiling mount and I am worried about them being hit if they are in front of my hitting area due to my lower ceilings.

Any help or advice would be great.

I went with the Benq TH671ST for anyone reading this. Worked out perfectly and has a lot of flexibility in terms of mounting. With the shorter ceilings it is no problem with the projector directly above the ball for both left and right handed golfers.

Short throw is the way to go. I'm choosing a projector now and after reading many articles and viewing videos the consensus is that your swing plane will not hit the projector either overhead or forward of the hitting area centered.

Thanx, I've had that model in my amazon cart for weeks and you gave me the "nudge " to finally order!

TH671 for me too. Jay (Golf Sim Videos) advised me on placement of the projector right above the ball. I have never had an issue. My projector is 10 feet from the screen.
