Hello Everyone,
First post and excited to soon join the Golf Simulator fun! I am a mediocre golfer, but looking forward to getting better and getting my 9yr old daughter practicing and hopefully loving the game the way I do. Also, all my friends are excited to come over often and play some rounds.
The Lowdown:
Finally redoing the upstairs loft into a golf simulator room and hoping for a little clarification on Projector choice if anyone has any experience. My ceilings are 9ft (sucks I know), and the ProTee VX will need to be roughly 3.5ft in front of the hitting strip per directions. I was hoping to purchase one of two Projectors - the BENQ LH820ST with a distance to screen of 6'4" per Projector Central. This means the ProTee VX would need to be either directly in front of or behind the project on the ceiling and perhaps causing me to move the tee area back to 11.5ft. Or the TK700STi with a distance to screen of 12'5", meaning the projector will be roughly 3' directly behind the hitting area at 10ft. As for the projector, 1080p or 4k does not matter much to me as I assume the picture clarity will be similar for golf sims. I doubt it will ever be used for movies.
Question: Should I utilize the projector behind me 3ft on the ceiling, with hitting area distance to screen of 10ft. Or should I do the projector ahead of me, but depending on interference from the ProTee VX might have to move the hitting area back to 11.5ft. Or does anyone have a better recommendation for a projector. Thank you in advance for any inputs.
Room Dimensions: 25' x 18' x 9' (ceilings)
Already Purchased Items
Enclosure: Carl's Place 7.7 x 13 (16:9 screen)
Golf Simulator: ProTee VX
Desktop Computer and OLED TV to run GSPRO
Planning to Puchase:
SIGPRO Softy Mat
Turf & mats for near the screen for soft landing
Respectfully,
-Rob
