  • Drywall protection

I’m looking for suggestions for drywall protection that isn’t permanent. I’m fine with screwing the protection into the studs to affix it but just can’t have it be permanent. I’ve read that some people have been using gym mats or foam gym flooring. Can anyone please advise how this has worked out for them, thickness used etc? Protection would be going against my drywall parallel to the hitting space. Any links to the products would also be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I use 1" thick EVA mats, the puzzle ones. They work fine for me. You can mount your protection to thin plywood or MDF and mount that with screws if you want.

This. You can mount whatever you wish to the 1/4 inch sheet and go from there. 1/4 inch ply and the acoustic foam triangle 12x12 panels glued to the ply is how I went. Super easy and looks great.
