Me and my buddy have been playing golf for almost 3 years now and in the last winter we thought that a golf simulator would be really useful. So a suitable room had to be found.
In summer we were able to visit a room that was ideal for us through an acquaintance: 4.8m wide (16ft) , 10m long (33ft) and 4.2m high (14ft)in the basement of an industrial building.
Conveniently, there is already a frame made of trusses that we can take over for free. Likewise, the walls were already covered with black curtain, perfect.
Unfortunately, the previous owner still has to store a few things in there, which is why we can't use the entire length, but that's only about 1.5m and we hope that the stuff doesn't stay in there forever.
At the end of September we were able to start construction, unfortunately only once a week because he works in the evening and I work during the day.
After 3 months of building the room is more or less finished, small things are still to be done but they are only optical.
Considering that we both had no idea about the topic, we think it turned out quite well. Of course there are things that are not ideal, but we are constantly trying to improve it.
As soon as the stuff from the previous owner is outside, we can finish the floor in the back and add a seating area.
Specs :
PC: Asus i7-12700 with RTX3070
Beamer : Panasonic AT6000 FullHD
Launchmonitor: Mevo+ 2023, without Add-Ons, maybe come later
Software: Flightscope, GSPro and E6
I still had the projector lying around at home and I could get the lawn carpet, not the hitting mat, for free. The whole thing cost us approx. 7500.- plus 75.- rent per month per person.
I don't want to write too much about what we did, pictures say more than 1000 words.
