Sound Dampening

I'm looking for some ideas to contain the noise from my sim setup. Currently I have an unfinished basement. The screen is held up with a 2x4 frame, and I have 4.5' long curtains on the sides that run from the floor to the ceiling.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success reducing noise in a situation similar to mine. It seems like maybe acoustic ceiling tiles would be the first place to start?

Building an enclosure with stud framing and a door would go a long ways.

If it sounds like the sound is traveling straight up and there is nothing but the subfloor of the 1st floor separating your hitting area from the usptairs, you'll want to look at filling that in with sound foam insulation and some drywall, but if you don't contain it within a room (see above) it'll just leak through.

Also, more sound travels through vents (assuming basement and 1st floor are on same HVAC zone) than you'd think. Try to avoid being near those or look to potentially re-route them.
