Need advice on 1st sim build

Starting my simulator build soon. I will have a garage built 18x25. I’m trying to decide on screen size and projector. Which aspect ratio is better for golf simulation? My family will occasionally watch movies but the main use will be simulation. I originally was going to go with a 9x14 screen but there aren’t many affordable quality 16:10 projectors. I could go 16:9 with an 8x14 screen or 8.5x15 or 9x16 if I had to. My question is, is the 16:10 worth the extra foot of height with a possibly lower quality projector?

I'm not an expert I have been researching how to DIY build a sim for years and things area always changing. But from what I have read 4:3 is the best aspect ratio for a sim. I am sure some would argue ultra-wide is more immersive but the problem is you introduce the potential for distortion. Also I feel like games/ software always run better in native resolutions so 4:3 may improve performance under normal use case especially with a regular PC or more of a middle of the road PC setup. If 4:3 is not an option then 16:9 is the next most native resolution that things can run at. Also I have been reading my fair share of posts/ articles that state the inefficiency of trying to get simulators to run 4k vs high FPS 1080p but this is more applicable to me in my budget.
