Looking for some guidance on best way to build an entertainment/golf sim space. Wife approval depends on these coexisting well together. Have some flexibility in the room space and design so seeking input now before breaking ground on a new build.
Entire space is 15’ wide by 31’ long but 10’ -15’ at the back will be a secondary TV and bar area.
1) overhead launch monitor - need advice here. Right now leaning towards uneekor Eye XO2 vs foresight hawk. Anything else I should consider here? I don’t have much sim experience so personal experience here helps. Any good sims that also do multi sports for young kids? Golf is still preference sport but I know new ones coming have more options. (Future proof here would be ideal).
2) screen size- what’s the biggest screen here that prioritizes entertainment? I’m thinking 14’ by 7’10” (16:9) but I assume they don’t come in these off sizes. Any suggestions here? Should I just make the room 16’ wide to get full 16’x9-10’ screen?
3) projector - looking at the benQ LK936ST 4K. Any other options here? My worry is that the projector will be close to the swing line.
4) audio - this is really important. I can put 4-6 speakers in the ceiling paired with a receiver but to get direct sound pointed at people I’d have to put speakers in front or behind the screen. Or at least a quality sound bar. What are the options here? Is behind a golf screen possible? If in front how to protect the speakers without degrading sound?
5) flooring - so the original intention in this basement is to put large format heated tile all across the space. Can I just put turf on top of the heated tile? Or should the turf go directly onto the concrete floor? Need flexibility here for future resale in event next owners don’t want the golf sim as part of the home.
I greatly appreciate any other things to consider as this is my first build and really want to push what’s capable here in terms of making it look and feel like a pure entertainment space first (for cosmetics) and golf second. Having the golf blend into the entertainment space is helpful.
thanks in advance.
