Hi All,
I have build in progress, where I would appreciate some critique/advice on the overall plan - in particular the hitting/putting aspect. See attached my proposed layout for the room, and photo of the room as I prepare it for the build.
Cheers,
I have build in progress, where I would appreciate some critique/advice on the overall plan - in particular the hitting/putting aspect. See attached my proposed layout for the room, and photo of the room as I prepare it for the build.
- The room is not perfect as it was a dining room within a 150yr old house, and contains an old fireplace which i wish to retain.
- Dims of room: 10ft ceiling, 3.75m wide * > 6m long
- I went for Foresight Falcon as to accommodate left & right handed users - I plan to offset the Falcon 300mm to allow RH be hitting closer to centre of screen, AND to try take the fireplace out of play as much as possible (while maintaining driver tee area 2.25m from wall (less ideal for lefties, but wont be too many of them)
- The enclosure, upholstered panels, and impact screen have been ordered from Foresight, so these items are pretty much locked in
- That fireplace is my main concern - i don't know how likely it is to be hit which from the tee/hitting area (the blue outline on the mat). May need to build some shank barrier? though it would ruin the aesthetic of the room
- The composition of the putting turf/hitting mat is up in the air, and I think i will be constructing this part myself. The easy option is to have the 2x2m hitting and a 1.5m * 3.6m putting practice area along the screen (as shown in the main layout) but then the putting would not be simulated correctly. Option 2 shows a 150mm putting strip continuing into the hitting area, so the putting can be simulated better - though i can see me messing up the construction of this option. Here I wish to keep the hitting mats rectangular so i can rotate them as they wear
Cheers,
