  • Center Channel theater speaker

I'm about to start a basement project and would like to double my golf simulator as a home theater as well. I'm looking at some different Atmos speaker setups, but does anyone have a good solution for the center channel speaker? Do people just put it behind the screen in some way? I'm at a bit of a loss trying to think through a good solution for that.

I am still working on my sim V2.0, but i put my center channel speaker above the screen, slightly angled down.
Left and right channel are at ear level. but i also added top left and top right front speakers more or less at the same level as the center channel...
I don't have any recent photos but here are a couple from a few weeks ago
    9 speakers total + 4 atmos (ceiling) + 2 subs

Thanks for the response. I'm leaning in the same direction as you. Looks like you're doing a curved screen? That setup should be amazing.

Yes, I started the build for a 6m wide 'normal' screen, then halfway through decided to go for a curved one (9m total length). A bit more work with multiple projectors required, but hopefully will be worth it
Using metal for the structure makes it easy to change things on the fly. The screen frame itself is standard EMT tubing that i curved with a pipe bender...
Back to the speakers, before making the decision to move the center channel up, i tried some very thin speakers (https://au.kef.com/products/t301c-ce...hannel-speaker) but the sound, though pretty impressive for the size, was getting muffled when i did a demo with the screen in place... But it's another option for you to consider as your screen might be more acoustically transparent than mine.
        All the best
