  • Some Help If Possible Please?

I have had a Sim since the first lockdown, when I had my wooden shed extended and started the project. Details are:
    Room (Internal) - 12 FT (W) 10FT (H) 15 FT (L) (Biggest I could fit in the space available)
Floor - Underlay I had from old carpet, hitting mat bought online, putting mat (sent to me by mistake. thank you)
Walls/Ceiling - Fully insulated and drywalled, walls finished with cheap (ish) carpet tiles
Hitting bay purchased online (Again, biggest I could fit in the space)
Launch Monitor - Original Skytrak (connected through home WiFi)
    Decent gaming PC
Audio - Pair of good Edirol stereo speakers
Projector - Old Epson bought from a pal for peanuts
Screen Type - A double skinned, polyester mix style screen, fully framed with leatherette style frame and fully grommeted all around. Bought to fit the hitting bay.
Screen Dimensions - 10 FT 8 Inches (W) 8 FT 7 Inches (H) Diagonal is about 13 FT 8 Inches (available screen after padding and framing).
The screen is situated about 18 Inches from the back wall. The Projector is ceiling mounted, about a foot below ceiling height and one foot from the front wall. So lens to screen is approx 12 and a half feet.
I am generally very happy with my build which my wife and I did ourselves, bar the shed skeleton extension and pre bought items above. However I have two nagging issues.
Firstly, the screen. The screen itself is fine for projection and ballstopping. However, the fully framed grommeted design does not allow you to stretch out any give in the screen. You can only tension the frame. So any drooping or creasing is yours for life and the sewing in of the material has to be perfect. I am currently considering cutting out the screen material and moving to Tarp Clips and Bungees. Any thoughts on that appreciated.

Secondly, my projection. As mentioned above, I do have a cheap old projector. I also went for as much screen size as I could get in, understanding that I would not be able to use all of, what are really, a set of strange dimensions aspect ratio wise. I would be very grateful for any advice on how I can get the best out of that screen area, projector wise. I have been on the likes of Projector Central but don't seem to get anywhere, admittedly from being a bit dim with that sort of thing. I've budgeted £1000 (ish) GBP, about $1,400. Should have said I am UK based. I have stuck some photos up for reference.

Yesterday I cut the front layer of the double sinned screen and it has made a huge, positive difference. Still struggling with a projector though!

Just wondering if I'm getting no reactions because I'm UK based? I'll take advice/comment from anyone, anywhere.

Without knowing more specifics I can’t say for sure, but backing your projector up some would help fill in some of the screen.
