  • DIY 8x10 Enclosure Questions

I am in the process of planning to upgrade my current golf sim (7' spornia)to an 8 high x 10 wide enclosure.
I was thinking to go with Carl's Place Premium 7.7x10 screen (open to cheaper but as good quality suggestions). Premium Golf Impact Screens, Best Quality - Carl's Place (carlofet.com)

    1. How much wider do I need to plan the enclosure compared to the screen size? Blow is the link I am using for a guide.
Was going to get 6 of these: Flat Roof Corner Fittings for Canopy Frames - A1Tarps.com and 2 of these: 1" L Shape (a1tarps.com)

Don't think I need the middle tubing splicers since I am doing 10' wide and the EMT comes in 10' length.
How deep do I need to make the enclosure on the sides? I am planning to hang curtains so not sure I need too much depth as the curtains will also provide side coverage.

You should look at Bullseye Golf Enclosure. Had mine for over a year now. Can’t say enough about the quality of it. They definitely use high quality material.

I bought a Carls Premium screen in 2021 and I have put two holes in it as of july 2024. My experience with the Carls creen was that it began to show signs of wear inside of the first two weeks. There was a permanent dimple in the screen and the fabric pilled right away. Since I have a relatively small room, 10 X 16, most balls hit the screen in the same general area. Since I have 2 holes in my screen now, I just purchased a Bullseye screen (their highest end) which uses Apex Mills material. Based on the advertising, it looks like Bullseye and SIGPro use the same material. I have not completed the replacement yet so I will follow up with how the Bullseye holds up.

Thank you. It's really not that bad to do once you get going...
