  • Bungee and/or zip ties for the top.

Should I use zip ties and or bungee cords for the top of the Impact screen. Seems like if I use bungee for the top they will stretch due to the weight.

I use bungees all around. The bending depends on how many bungees you use, type of bungees and weight of the screen.

I use bungee cord tied in a knot at the top of the screen. Zip ties are a problem since they have little resistance to shock loads which occur when the ball hits the screen. I initially had zip ties spaced six inches apart across the 13 ft span. They continually broke especially when the garage temperature was sub 60F.. Since using the thin bungee cord I haven't broken one in several years..

Ronsc ... I am planning my sim build for this week. 1). how much narrower is your screen than your sim frame (I am using EMT). 2). Does your screen touch the floor? 3). What is the spacing between grommets (I have a 3 layer screen ... raw ... will insert grommets as 1st step). Thanks in advance. I have seen comments to leave 1.5" on each side .. but not to stretch the screen ... then use a foam mat to cover the "gap". which is my plan.
    Working...
