Just Started Building a Sim in my Work Shop

We built a house 10 years ago with a 3 car garage ... one section walled off for my work shop. Built a lot of furniture for our new home but I decided that since building projects were now minimal I would use PART of the shop area for a simulator with a 9'3" width and 8'10" height. Bought a Mevo Plus ... had to run a cable from our home router to the garage for reliable WIFI, then picked up a new gaming PC with a 4060 graphics card, Windows 11, and 32 GB ram. Have a bad shoulder so I ordered a Sig Pro Softy hitting strip ... (in transit) and since that is 2.5" thick I will have to build a subframe for my hitting strip, a 4' * 10' putting strip, and the Mevo ... so everything is on the same level.

Just finished the EMT frame and cut the Poly Spacer 3 layer impact screen to size and installed grommets. With the driver I get a 3' bounce back onto the floor. My sim frame is 5' deep so once done with some turf over the 1/2" foam I will see how it bounces / rolls.

Once all is installed and the Mevo is operational on my PC and Monitor I will be ordering a BenQLH600ST since it has the 1:1 aspect ratio option and is reportedly an excellent projector in it's price range.

Finally finished the sim structure and raised platforms for Mevo Plus, hitting strip (with Sig Pro Softy insert 2.5" deep) and 9' putting strip. Ball hitting spot is 11' 6" from the screen with the Mevo spot 8' behind the ball. Now to set up the PC and the Mevo ... then order a projector that can handle a 1:1 aspect ratio screen. Will be moving select shop equipment back in in a few days ... chop saw bench is 9' long ... but will do all cutting outside to eliminate sawdust in the Sim area...if possible.

Looks great! I'm curious about your flooring. I also use a Mevo Plus, and am in a garage where we use the space to park. Your platforms look level and solid, are they heavy? Appreciate any design tips. Currently I slide out a hitting mat, and my Mevo isn't even with it.

I use the Sig Pro Softy hitting strip which is 2.5" tall ... for that reason I had to build the platforms. I used 1*3's ripped down to 2.00" width for the Mevo frame with .25" plywood on top .. and put putting turf on that that is .25" thick. That platform is very light ... 2 feet wide by 6'6" long. The hitting platform is made from 1*3's as the base (.75" thick) with 1/2 in plywood on top and a 1.25" hitting mat on top. That is pretty heavy but moveable. Then I have a 4' * 9' putting platform ... built so it is flush with my hitting platform. It has 3 putting hole / cups in it ... great practice.

Unfortunately my Mevo plus won't work in my garage for some reason ... might be the metal roof on the garage ... rebar in the floor or concrete block walls. Sucks because the Mevo Plus is a great price for a unit with a lot of ball and club data, no subscriptions, and 20 really good courses. So I'm now looking at the Bushnell Launch Pro vs. the Uneekor Eye Mini,
