  • Golf Sim room - New build need help.

I am in the process of completing my golf sim room. It measures 16 x 30 x 10’6”H.

I am struggling with how to complete the room for flooring and wall material. For all the golf specific items, I am good. But to build the room out so that it looks good, that is where I would like help.
The end opposite from the impact screen will have a couch, and some tables and small bar fridge.

I would like suggestions or pictures of what anyone would suggest. I have spent hours online, but only seem to see either garage builds, or really high end rooms. I am aiming to be in between both of those. I want a finer finish than garage level, but not a $50,000 room either. (excluding sim equipment)

What can I put on the walls and what flooring to use. Should I put laminate flooring down, carpet, or another product? Just drywall for the walls, or something more finished? I am open to any suggestions. Pictures would be awesome to see.

My wife has suggested tongue and groove pine for the walls, but I am fearful that would be too much pine.

I would like an accent wall on the opposite end from the screen.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

My room dimensions are similar to yours 10'1" height, 16' wide, 25' deep. The flooring is maple lvf. The walls are sheet rock with crown and baseboard trims. I used 4'x2' acoustic fiberglass fabric covered panels from Amazon. The screen is a Carl's Place built in kit. The flooring is a custom modified Sig10 Sigpro platform floor from the Indoor Golf Shop.

That looks awesome. Your turf is the best I have seen. How far away from the screen do you hit from?

The distance from the center of my Sigpro Softy hitting strip to the screen is 9’6”.

I've just completed my sim yesterday except for some trim, wall panels. Finished room dimensions are 17' W x 29' L. Vaulted ceiling is 12' 7" in the centre, and 10' on the walls. My floor is has 4 layers of material on a concrete slab as follows; ¾" Dricore, (home depot) ¾" OSB 4x8 (home depot), ½" EVA foam (Amazon), ⅜" Synthetic Turf NP45 putting turf (local flooring retailer). You can see the layers at the bottom of the image.

I will drop my 2 ⅜" thick Sigpro softy (Indoor Golf Shop) into the surface for a level surface eventually. Sonopan 4x8 panels (home depot) are going up on the OSB walls in the hitting bay for some sound proofing. I plan to cover them with black padding. Ceiling is Ready Pine (local building supply store). The other end is drywall where there will be seating.

Protee VX launch monitor, BenQ LK93ST, Carl's place grey screen, and custom computer is my set up.

This is a purpose built "garage" that will double as a movie room, and extra sleeping space. There is a lot of ambient light so that's why I chose the grey screen.

    Hope that helps.
