  • Sim Room Advice Needed - Overhead Projector with Overhead Monitor

Hi All, Looking for some advice on my home sim build. I have converted part of my garage for a sim room, and my space is ok but still tight for accommodating righty's and lefty's. The room is 12 feet wide, 18 feet long, and just under 10 foot ceilings. My plan is have a 8x10.7 screen, ProteeVX overhead on a SIMRail that allows the unit to slide side to side to accommodate lefty's and righty's, a fiberbuilt Combo mat (10x12) which gives a 10ft wide by 4ft deep hitting area that will start 8 feet back from the screen (8-12ft feet back from the screen). This way lefty's and righty's can hit from anywhere on the mat, and the ProtTee VX will move from side to side so that everyone is hitting offset (if that makes sense). I'm looking at projectors and specifically at the BenQ TH671ST, but I'm a bit concerned with mounting location. The ProteeVX will be ahead of the golfer, and the projector will need to be centered, however because golfers will be hitting offset I'm worried that we could end up hitting it with a club, particularly because the ceiling is relatively low (9"8"). I will have some space behind the hitting area so I can move it back but not sure if I will end up with shadows of the golfers. Has anyone run into this issue? If so, any tips? Thanks
