Hi all! Newbie NOOB here looking for advice on my first garage simulator build. (looking to stick wth dimensions where it could be moved to my basement at a later date). 9" ceiling X 10/11' wide. My budget is $4K max so this will not be a high end build. My needs are around a simulator where my family and I can practice golf. I don't plan to entertain much with it. I've researched the tech and plan to go with the Square and $350 lifetime membership. We had kids and I believe they will enjoy the games on that software. It also has a range and some courses, enough for me to practice my game on. May upgrade that piece of the build at a later time. For the enclosure I'm considering one of these two models off Amazon. One mounts the projector right off the cage which seems nice so I dont have to deal with mounting on my 11ft. celing. I'm also no opposed to mounting on the 11ft celing because one of my kids pitchs softball and I'd like for her to be able to practice pitching into the cage, even if it's into a net infront of the simulator screen. (i dont konw if the simulator screen will be misused by throwing softballs into it). I feel like mounting the projector away from the cage as much as possible would be for the pitching application.. I worry aobut her hitting the projector if it's mounted to the top of the screen as I'd like her to be throwing from the entrance of the garage (as far back as possible from the cage to simulate real life pitching and ball flight, not right up in the cage). May flex on this and have her pitch under the projector if i mount it to the cage. So looking for pluses and minuses of both options please and thanks for the help. For the projector I'm eyeing up the attached pic of the Viewsonic model, 1080p, digital but not sure if the resolution will fit my screen? I'm really at a loss to know what projects will fit what screens. And yes we have alot of cleaning out of the garabe to do including selling the popup camper and moving the shelfing in the back of the garage to make room for the simulator, but I'm up for it!
