How much putting surface is needed? How far back to shoot?

I'm looking at a cage which is 6' deep. Screen size 8X10, maybe 9X14. How far back should I plan on hitting the ball from?

It depends on your launch monitor. I use a Mevo + so I have to go pretty far back from my screen, it recommends 13ft. If your launch monitor doesn't need space like mine then the next consideration is where does your projector need to be mounted. Once you figure out where you can stand and not wack your projector then go where ever is comfortable. The screen doesn't care how close or far you are! you can put your hitting mat on top of your flooring and hit some balls and adjust where your mat is going to go permantly before cutting your flooring and inserting the striking mat in flush.
