  • Cable Connections

So I'm finally closing up my golf sim walls this weekend with wood planking over the sheetrock. I have a chase run in the sheet rock from the ceiling to about 4' above the floor. I can make it longer.

What low voltage cable do I need from my overhead projector to my computer and monitors or between monitor and computer etc.? A USB is run from my computer to launch monitor on the floor correct?

For audio I can't really run any cable over to my impact screen but I do have outlets up high on each side of the impact screen. Can I pug in a sonos sound bar and utilize that for audio? Do i need any audio wires from projector down to PC? Thanks a lot for any help.

As to running USB cables remember you can't make long runs if you are moving a lot of data like to a 4k projector.

In my case 25 feet of USB cable from computer to projector was on the edge. I eventually replaced the copper cable with fiber optic. Fiber optic can be a bit of a pain if you need to make sharp bends as they have a minimum turn radius.

From the computer to the LM copper cable is not a problem unless you have a really long run as the data rates are much lower.

As to audio a lot of projectors have built in speakers of fairly low power output. If that doesn't suit you video cards have audio outputs which you could connect to whatever output device you desire. Again due to the low frequencies involved most any type of connect wire will do.
