  • Garage simulator build

Starting my garage sim upgrade. I've been using this setup for the past 4 years with optishot and net return pro. Works great but lacks useable ball data. Purchased a gc2 without the hmt, new desktop, fsx software, benQ projector, supertex screen 8x14 and a sportscreen motorized drop down screen that I am planning to attach the supertex with Velcro on top of the existing sportScreen. I can't see that anyone has tried this but I'm hopeful it will work. All suggestions are welcome, thanks to all the members who have posted their experiences.

that sports screen might work, the metal bar that runs through the middle would make me a little nervous though good luck

The middle bar on the Sportscreen is removeable, I plan to use it to weigh down the bottom of the impact screen or maybe use a piece of heavier metal tubing depending how the screen hangs. I ordered a supertex screen from Chip at spectrum golf. He's sewing a 2 inch velcro strip at the top of the screen which I'll attach directly to the metal roller on top, hemmed on the sides and a sleeve on the bottom for the bar as well as two velcro straps on the bottom that I might use to tighten the screen if needed. He also has some foam wedges that are made to be placed at the bottom of the screen to deflect any wormburners up into the screen. I'll be hanging the sportscreen just below the garage door tracks from some T slot aluminum framing. I think it might work great and still allow normal access to the garage.

Attached some 80/20 aluminum t slot framing to the garage door tracks. Plan to hang the motorized drop down sportscreen/impact screen next week.

How close is it to the garage door??? Should be at least 16 to 18 inches from there.

The screen is mounted to a sliding track allowing me a maximum of five feet of horizontal adjustment and 10 inches of vertical adjustment. Currently 2 feet of clearance to the garage door.

Retracted position. The motorized sportscreen comes with a remote. No interference with the garage door.

A couple of detail pics of how I attached the roll up screen to the garage door tracks for anyone interested in a similar setup.

What an awesome and creative setup! I'll bet a lot more people that gave up on no room would have sims if they thought outside the box like you.

Side and top netting in place. Hopefully, I'm "finished."

This is identical to what I want to do in my garage. Can you help walk me through what you purchased and from where? I'd really appreciate your help

Edit: I just found the sportscreen, what a great idea. How did you mount the impact screen to it?
