  • TGC vs E6 1.6 with Protee

I know this has been covered. I have read the post. Just looking to see if there is more detailed information. I know everybody says TGC, because of graphics and online play.

E6 reminds me of JNPG when it comes to graphics which I am fine with. It is still an upgrade from Protee 2.0.

What I am more interested in is a great driving range, the scoring center of E6 and to be able to track stats. I want to know what I am doing and how I am getting better or worse. I also plan on giving lessons as I coach a small team.

I know TGC 2 will be coming , but will it be offering anything close to this? The only thing that pains me about E6 is the price point. $1800 is hard to justify, when TGC is pretty much 1/2 the price.

So any other help than the posts that are out there would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Steve

With tgc you can turn shot recording on and it will save your shot data to the tournament site which you can then download and put into a spreadsheet for analysis.

Does that include practice mode or just online tournaments. I know shot recording has to be on for the online tour.

Yes practice rounds and driving range shots are recorded under the non tournament category.

E6 has supior features and limited courses. Both are great and won't dissapoint. TGC wins IMO with courses and online community play.

E6's practice features are great, and there is currently no comparison features in TGC in this regard. If your main purpose is to setup the sim to practice, I'd go for E6. Although, Protee 2.0 already has a range with some data tracking features on it, but neither have the scoring zone/bullseye type practice modes that E6 has.

$1800 is a LOT of money to spend for it though, I'd weigh that with the $1k price tag of TGC, and think if the extra money is really worth it, especially since everything else about TGC is better...graphics, courses, online play....etc.

I think you could get the same results using TGC vs E6, you just won't have the fancy target bullseye/practice modes that E6 has. Another benefit to getting TGC is that once TGC2 comes out, you'll be in the upgrade category (free, is the rumor) vs new purchase, which will have some cost to it.

I have GC2 and TGC and practice just as much as I play now, which is very little due to my devil children sucking the life out of me.

Worth pointing out, you can build a customized range using a course designer with all the details up to your needs.
