Hi All

Like many I've been lurking for a long time and I owe a massive thanks to all of you on this forum who have contributed your thoughts and experiences. Thank you for the wealth of information that has helped me reach the point of being able to start a custom build over the coming months.

I'm looking forward to documenting the build and sharing my experiences to try and help some of the future sim builders.

After building a custom room, and subject to some final decisions, the setup will be a GC2A with Protee 2.0 and TGC software. The main floor will be Pro15 putting turf from the very helpful guys at Par2Pro with a pair of CCE stance mats, surrounding a Fiberbuilt hitting surface - thanks to everyone with all the info about that setup amongst others! SQ-Beta screen from Par2Pro will hopefully be mounted for the image from a Panasonic PT VZ580 - again, thanks to everyone for the detailed recommendations and feedback regarding projectors.

Subject to internet speeds (a question I'll post elsewhere), I'm looking forward to a round or two against some of you once I get setup!

Sounds like a great set up! Best of luck with your build, hope it’s smooth. As a fellow soon-to-be builder, what dimensions have you settled on for your custom room? I’ll look for updates on your build, as mine will be slow and painful. Began clearing the space in the backyard to level a foundation and I’ve already run into termites and drainage issues. Neither are in what is already a very tight budget. I’m also going to have to cut out at least 2 trees. So frustrating, but the last thing I want is to cut corners and have it leak or cave in after all the work and money. I’m going to try and get lots of pics and document my build as well.

Dang... I thought I was facing some challenges Sim-dreamer. It sounds like you're going to justify some well earned sim time when you're finished. I'm building a "room" within an existing log building. The outer building is my shop, which is unheated and not insulated, The inner room dimensions will be 15' wide x 26' long x 10' high with insulated floor, walls and ceiling. One end of the room will be used as a small gym, with gym flooring, but left open to allow for some space at the back end of the sim area. The sim flooring will be full 15' wide and 16' deep. I plan to start the "room" build next month, so a that stage I'll probably start hitting the challenges of an existing floor which is not flat, and walls that are not square!! I'll keep updates coming in case they can be of any help
