    Noob from Chicago area

Hey everyone, Just bought a new house with an extra tall basement and have plans of putting a sim in it. I have already done a ton of research and I think i'm going to go with a skytrak with r motion on the clubs. I'm thinking TGC is the likely software, and there's a carls golf screen and cage I'm looking at. BenQ ST projector. Mat is in the air right now as my buddy had to F* it up by being a lefty, and considering he will likely be over weekly it's a major factor in the build.

Just looking to learn and have some fun doing it here.

Skytrak is going to be a big pain in the ass going from righty to lefty.

Trickle, why do you say that? My plan is to upgrade to Skytack this winter.
I be a lefty, daughter is a righty.
All my golfing buddies are righty.

Is it not as simple as rotating the Skytrack and lining up the ball to the dot?

        Thanks

Improved700 well it is that simple sort of. Keep in mind the skytrak needs to be aligned if it is off a few degrees your shot will also be off. The first thing I do when I start my golf for the day is open up skytrak range and align my unit properly. If you are moving the unit after every shot it may be difficult to keep ailignment. I am not saying it is not possible I am sure you can make some sort of template and just move the unit inside the template super fast.

All I am trying to say it is possible just not ideal.

If everyone besides you is righty, you'll be working for a living while you try to play golf at home. Sometimes I feel like it's a job with friends over since you're the resident expert you'll be need to make sure everything is facilitated as it is already.

I'm a lefty and have friends over all the time who are all righties. Really not too big a deal moving the skytrak from one side of the mat to the other. While you can make an argument the shots might not be dead on due to the switching, none of us are playing for money. Just an excuse to socialize and drink beer.
