New UK member, advice on first sim build please

Been reading the forum and it has been a massive help on where to start, some fantastic advice!

So after all the reading, I am swaying towards SkyTrak with Net Return Home Series due to the limited space I have (2.4m height and width, depth isn’t a problem).

Still unsure what mat to go for (advice?) and which package with the SkyTrak (advice?) but want plenty of courses and multi player options so looks like that means I will be going down PC/Laptop and TGC route.

If anyone thinks I would be better off avoiding the SkyTrak and/or Net Return, please feel free to point me in the direction of a better alternative.

    Thanks in advance

Hi, I finished my build 14 months ago and have used almost every day since. I went for the Skytrak and Creative Golf 3D (CG3D). I have found both to be fantastic.
My first Skytrak unit developed a fault after 9 months but was replaced under warranty.
CG3D does not require a high spec PC and I've found it to be the most realistic, especially the chipping and putting. The multi player option is also great. The graphics may not be as good as some of the other simulation software but I think more than adequate.
With regards to the matt, I wanted the whole room to be on the same level (didn't want to be tripping over a matt). I covered the whole floor (3.2m wide x 6m deep) in MDF and then covered in low cost artificial grass. I then cut out a tee area 0.5m x 0.5m and covered (glued down to concrete floor) in expensive Golf Tee Turf from the artificial lawn company. The golf tee turf is excellent, it accepts a normal tee and after 14 months of continuous use it is still like new. I purchased the impact screen from Golf Swig Systems (approx £1,000).
    Hope this helps.

I had limited space in garage and went with net return home series (7 feet wide) and mats from Rain or Shine, along with GC2 from Foresight. Just added TGC2019 (thanks to this forum figured it out) and just played "Augusta" flawlessly. High end performing hardware with state of the art software at "reasonable"" expense. Totally pleased with all. Next up, Cypress Point!

Looks good! Braver man than me having the screen so close to the net! I’ve ended up with something similar, waiting for the Net Return Home Series to arrive but I’ll be playing sim golf via a SkyTrak/laptop combo initially
