Private message notifications

I get a lot of PMs and periodically have to empty out my inbox. Apparently, if someone responds after I have deleted the thread, the thread reappears in my trash folder. The problem is that I am not getting any notification that they have sent me a new message. Is there a way to get a notification if something new comes into the trash folder? I just happened to notice that there were a couple of threads in my trash (which I normally empty) with people waiting for a response from me for a couple of months.

I have noticed the same problem with visitor messages. PM/DM usually work fine though.

Yup, the visitor message thing is weird. Someone will send me a visitor message and I reply and then the thread is gone and I can't retrieve it again. Not sure I really understand the whole "visitor message" thing or what exactly the point of it is.

The notification and message will be in your notifications but only until you read it. Click notification and the message center. I get a ton of PM's and have to delete my inbox weekly.
