  • Hi! From Rochester NY.

I'm just a beginner and at 77 yrs too! I've invested in a Flight Scope Mevo+ and made a frame for my 8' x 10' screen with EMT Conduit and Makerpipe.com fittings. I'm using an older Ipad mini and a BENQ projector. Problem is no hdmi terminals on the Ipad, so I mirrored that to an Mac Airbook. I had problems with linking the MEVO to my Ipad, until I moved away from the Mac, then it connected just fine. (What a pain that was.) In this pic, sorry but I haven't squared up the image from the ceiling mounted BENQ, but it works fine.

Enjoy your set-up - makes the winter pass by easier indeed. I might recommend some padding up on the right side over your windows. That net will deflect somewhat and you don't want to crack the window in mid Feb!

I have an electric window drape track, so I can easily pull the drapes across which should give me plenty of protection, and it will darken the room somewhat too. I'm not sure about my Flight Scope Mevo+ mounting being correct, as the hitting mat is raised a little. It also moves on the Home Depot carpet.

I'm not sure if I should cut the carpet to drop the mat in and make it more level. I moved the putting green to a different area as it isn't involved with the simulator.

I'm also thinking I should redo my frame and use this DIY kit from Carls Place
It looks like it would eliminate the bottom front rail in my feeble design. I can't see how the bottom of the screen would be attached to anything. I guess it just hangs loose?

I wish I'd known about this before I started this project!

Welcome to the party! I am on Sim 3.0 with many iterations along the way. And I am - by far - not leading the tinkering or upgrade pack! What else are we gonna do in those long northern winters? 😎
