  • My Experience with GSA and PX5

    Hi all,
I am the recent new owner of the GSA PX5 and TGC. I was one of the original pre-orders for the R-Motion and couldn’t wait to get it. Well I should have known that with the R-Motion you get what you pay for. I am about a 20-25 handicap but with the R-Motion I was shooting in the 70s. Then I would play IRL and my handicap jumped to 30-35. So my simulator days were put on hold since my swing was hurt from using the R-Motion.
The GSA PX5 is awesome! Yes, the initial set up will take you time, and you will have questions, but Martin (the owner of GSA) and forum members have been extremely helpful!
I have only had the system for a short period of time and I have set it up in the new converging stereo. Martin has been quick to make updates when small things arise and I believe it is extremely accurate. For example- After my first 9 holes I was 13 over par! I know that doesn’t sound exciting because it isn’t great golf but it’s realistic. Fat shots are fat. Thin shots are thin. Pulls are pulls.
I will end by saying if you are someone who gets easily frustrated working with computers and doesn’t have patience for set up, look elsewhere. If you prefer to have an Amazing System that can be extremely accurate with a bit of work then go on golf-simulators.com and email Martin! I’m happy with my purchase!

Any GSA users should go ahead and set up their cameras in stereo. It works really well. Set up is not as painful as I thought it would be. I was fully expecting to give up a little bit of accuracy for more accurate ball speed. That is not the case. Ball direction and LA prove to be as accurate as the X,Y setup. I still haven't confirmed speed yet but it seems to be the same as before. Played a few holes yesterday. I haven't played for quite some time. So I was taking it easy and swinging about 3/4. At first I thought that maybe my spin settings were too forgiving as most shots were pretty straight. So then I set up for a big draw with the driver. Well, I managed to get 27 degrees of SA for a massive duck hook. Ok, so no problem there. The next hole I set up for a fade of lesser extent. Swing felt good as I came across the ball a little with an open face compared to my path. This time SA was around 9 degrees left and the ball started right and faded nicely to the left. Also, any users that have trouble getting a full bright trace, might want to try the IBS feature. Martin has it working excellent now.
