  • GSA Vistrak provides club data and video playback for Skytrak and GC2 users

Please note that Vistrak is still in Beta testing. Improvements are made weekly. Opinions suggestions of our beta testers are heard and considered. I thought that I would let everyone know that while the software is not perfect, it is useable. Currently the single camera Vistrak can be picked up for around $1000. You will need plenty of light and a fast computer to get good results. My old i7 2nd generation with 16 GB of ram did ok. However the onboard USB 3.0 really lacked the bandwidth needed for the high speed camera. That was not a big problem as a USB 3.0 PCI express card ( $40 for the card) solved this issue. My latest computer build is a monster and has no issues with bandwidth. Vistrak will provide club speed, club face angle and club path. This data will be shown as a overlay on top of your game software. Skytrak and GC2 users shouldn't have issues as Vistrak and the GSA software should complete it's job before the launch monitor sends their information to the gaming software. Here is a video showing how the club data will be viewed.

There are options for watching the video.... you can have it pop up automatically and stay on for a predetermined amount of time.... or you can manually watch it and close it.
I just received some excellent suggestions from Wbond. These suggestions will be forwarded to Martin our programmer.

Watching the club face make contact with the ball is great information to have.

Since this product is still in Beta testing. The look and features may change as time goes on. Martin has been putting out 4 to 5 updates a week over the past month or two. I am very confident that GSA will get this product working as solid as their older PX and CX systems.

The Vistrak systems offer club data like the PX systems did but without the need for sensors in the mat. Vistrak also offers a larger hitting area and video playback of your club head at impact. Your lighting options can be viewed on GSA's website.

So i have one of the vistrak cameras and will weigh in on this. I have the camera with the standard mount that comes with it.

-It is in Beta, so you MUST keep that in mind.
-If you are adding this to any system that's not already predicated on light, i will almost guarantee, you will need additional lighting and that expense.
-The mount i have is not good at all and may even be defective. Keith offered to send me a new one, but I'm waiting to see about possibly incorporating this into an IR fixture.
-It comes with no directions at all, you need to use the GSA site. Go there review the pages and you can form your own opinion.
-If you are using the camera with just the included camera mount, it's a nightmare to get it square to your mat as it's on a ball and socket and you have two cords coming off the camera and you have to use an allen wrench to loosen and tighten to get it in place. I would say to purchase it with the case not the camera by itself.
-For someone who has never used the GSA control panel, I found it difficult and confusing
-I only have very limited usage so far, but the video does pop up automatically when using TGC. However, if you want it to come on automatically it currently does so too early. There is a delay option but it appears to not be functioning at this time.
-The guys on the GSA discord channel are very helpful to point you in the right direction and Keith has remoted in to my computer to get me started.
    -Updates do come very frequently

Here is a short video of one shot. Note, it does pop up automatically, but i took the video with my phone and used the replay button to show this.
I have added some additional light and have not tried to get everything setup properly and I believe the readings are off.

When being used with a unit like the GC2 or ST that uses a flash. It will mess up the ball data. The flash will light up the entire hitting area. The system can not distingush between the ball and the mat during the flash. The club data should be good given enough light. It is recommended that anyone purchasing a beta unit also purchase one of the two lights available. We have an IR option and a LED spotlight option. Halogen has proven to be very difficult to use as the lighting source. I was running 220 watts when I was testing halogens. I am currently running the Led spotlight along with 1 halogen 9 degree 75 watt light. It is also recommended that the lights be mounted no higher than 9 feet from the mat. Mike also has a lR light that he is developing. I find his light to be very good.

A little trick to aligning the camera to be square with the mat. Have the mount fairly tight.... but not too tight that you can't move the camera. Then tighten once it is aligned. If you loosen the mount too much, it will move while you are tightening it.

I will be posting a chipping video shortly followed by a few holes on TGC2019.
