Figured I would update this thread as it has been a while. I recently made some changes to my swing that seems to have some positive results. I finally was able to reduce the strength in my grip after months of trying to get used to it with little success. It is still strong but much less so. It now feels much more comfortable. Doing this has effectively reduced how much I tend to drop the club to the inside and lowers the severity of my draw and how much body contorting I need to do to make it work. I have also started hiking my hands up much higher and more like Bubba Watson does, as well as take the club back with the feeling I am taking it back very outside. The high hands just feels better for me and it seems to lengthen my swing a bit and I get a bit more speed. It also, when combined with the more outside feeling takeaway, feels like I get in a much better position at the top and I am able to really give it from there and hit the ball reliably well. It seems to be much more consistent so far. I now hit the ball EXTREMELY high with every club which is great to me. I have plenty of power so high and soft landing is great (driver I get a little less roll now but my carry has gone up a ton).

Anyways, I am still striving to realize 130 mph with my driver. I will hopefully hope on a Trackman in the near future to officially see where I am at.

LOL. Exactly my friend. I found when I first started to weaken my grip I would hit massive block slices. Now somehow I got the feel for the release with a weakened grip so that I don't do that. Took a lot of work and talking myself into it. I still hit some block slices but knowing I can keep it straight and still draw it gives me courage.

I do block some to the right also but my biggest issue is still the pull. Previously I would take a practice swing and put my club back to address to see what it look like and it was always closed and hooded. With my grip change I can now square it much easier. More importantly I think is now I can look at video of myself and see what I’m doing wrong. I also should mention I’m nowhere near your clubhead speed.

Thats not a bad thing, being 3 fairways over when you screw up isn't as glamorous as it sounds
