Considering buying a used GC Quad, which is not cheap and it would be shipped from the US to Canada, of course the seller would not ship unless he has the money upfront. However how do I know he will ship the unit? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

That’s a tough one. Start with paying with PayPal using goods and services. I think that offers you some protection. If it’s a sale on this forum, hopefully they are not on here trying to scam people. I sold a skytrak on here a couple months ago, and I kept the buyer informed all the way to the time I shipped it. Sent him pictures along the way all the way up until dropping it off at UPS.
I will say though, if it’s not a screaming deal, I would buy it direct from foresight or an authorized seller. I would rather pay a little more for the peace of mind, considering it’s a $10k+ piece of equipment. And then you would also get the warranty too that comes with it. Good luck though

Is the person on this forum and known? What site are you purchasing it from and does the person have any feedback etc? You could possibly also confirm ownership etc through Foresight.
it’s a tough one I know, but at the end of the day you need to feel comfortable. If you don’t, then going the route suggested above is likely the best.

There are also escrow services that will hold the money until it gets delivered. I would also ask to FaceTime with them to see the unit working, just to make sure that they actually have it. There have been lots of people in the past who use old pictures and create eBay listings saying to contact them directly.
