  • Swing training: Recommendations

Hey guys. Started doing some swing training. a few issues I'm running into. I sweat quite a bit and my gloves get soaked, and I'm slipping quite a bit in the hands. I was going to start using two gloves, specifically rain gloves... Anyone doing that?

Secondly... At what point in swing training do you start seeing gains for your average "gamer" swing? I've just started but I've seen roughly a 3-4mph average increase on my normal driver swing after a week. I still can't get to my max number on course (only 114).

    Anything else?

Are you talking about Super Speed?

I started it just after the new year and saw a massive increase in ball speed in the first month but nothing since then. I've just sort of plateaued (but at least maintained that initial gain). Although my sim balls are in desperate need of a change out so I'm looking forward to picking up a fresh box soon and seeing if it makes a difference.

They say that you should expect a big increase right off the bat, so 3-4 MPH in the first week is not at all surprising. I have not been able to play outside since I started (and I also don't have a swing speed radar) so I can't say yet if any of it has transferred to the outside world.

My hands sweat a lot when I play, and I use a rain glove on my left hand only (I'm right handed). The ones that I really like are on Amazon and made by "Finger Ten". They have different colors and you don't need to buy the pair. The last for a really long time too.

Count me in as a sweaty hand guy as well.

One thing that has helped me is I got a glove from Caddy Daddy, and it's by far the most breathable glove I have used.

Its definitely very different than a traditional cabretta leather glove, so I don't actually use it on the course. But it's been great as a practice glove.

On the range or in the sim I really like it. Can beat balls for as long as I like, and the sweaty hands are less of an issue. The grip of the glove reminds me of a WR glove in football.

Durability has proven to be very good with the glove as well. I think it's worth a look.
