  • New Ball on the Cheap Kirkland Signature

Not sure if you folks are aware, but Costco now has their own ball, Kirkland Signature. I've been using it for the past week and have been pretty impressed. Four piece urethane. Most are saying it's very comparable to the ProV1x. Best part $15 dozen.

Nice!!! Thanks for the heads up. I usually play TM Project A's to get an affordable Urethane ball. I will definitely check this out.

That's funny, i just got my free dozen project A's at the same time. If i get some time, I'll do a little comparison with them for driver, 7 iron and wedge.

This would be a game changer if they are as good as this.

I'm not sure that anything beats buying USED ProVs for $0.60+/- a ball.

I buy 50 every winter and it lasts me all summer long.

And they're VERY comparable to ProVs....oh wait, they are ProVs...

I guess if people can't handle someone's logo on their ball they wouldn't like it, but otherwise I see no reason to buy new balls, ever.

Love the TM project A's...... crazy distance and good feel with the irons around the green. I will try the kirklands though.

It's being manufactured by Nassau golf. From what I've read, it has the exact same specs as their Quattro ball. Looks like they've just re-branded that ball. I'm not familiar with the company but apparently they've been around a really long time and their golf balls are primarily used in Europe. Maybe some of those guys can chime in on the Nassau name. These balls appear to be picking up steam pretty quickly.

In case anyone missed it, this guy on youtube compared the Kirkland ball with the ProV1 and Taylormade Tour Preferred on his GC2. Not sure if he's one of us or not, but he's a player. Pretty interesting results. I'm also linking his raw data if you don't want to watch the fairly long video. I bought some just to use for sim play and see how I like them.

Yes 165ish ball speed with a 3 Wood, that's big... tour caliber.

I wonder if these Kirkland balls are available in Canada?

I have 8 boxes or the kirklands. The ball really can't be beat for the price of 2 doz for $30.

My side by side testing with prov1s were basically identical distance, shape, launch, spin etc..

Cheap enough too that they will probably replace my cheap sim balls soon enough.

They have been all the rage since they launched last fall. Now the big boys are feeling the heat and disputing the test methods that showed how good a ball it actually is! I'm a huge Titleist ball guy and use nothing but the ProV1X but can't wait until they relaunch these Kirklands. The last launch they did they only lasted for 2 hrs from what I have read.

Anybody know when the next bunch will be released?

Am I nuts or is buying used AAAA conditions ProVs online for $0.50-$70 a ball not the best price for a premium ball?

Is it because they're "used" that many of you guys wouldn't buy them?

I buy 50 ProVs a year, and usually have about 20-30 left over, for $35-40 or so. How can you beat that?

Where do you find them for that price? Looking on ebay right now, the cheapest per ball price I see is $45 for 50 balls. Most are in the $1.00-1.25/ball range. At $1/used ProV1 or $1.25/new Kirkland, I think I would go with the Kirkland since you know it hasn't been sitting in a pond for a while and it won't have any Sharpie marks to get on my impact screen. If I could find used ProV1s for $0.50 though, that is a tougher decision.

I order them in bulk and use holiday/seasonal coupon code easily found online. If it takes off 10% or more, you're paying $0.60 a ball or less.

I usually get AAA condition, the ones with peoples logo's, names...etc. These, combined with a coupon, you get ProVs for $0.50 a ball.

Sure, "maybe" there is a bad ball in there...but honestly I have never found one. I do NOT buy refurbished ones. Some just repaint the ball in a really cheap material which basically re-covers the ball with junk that just shreds off after a full wedge shot.

Never been an issue on quality for me, and I play tournament golf a lot with them. Of course in tournaments I have to make sure I'm using all ProV1s OR ProV1Xs since you cannot change type of balls during play.

Exactly what I do......purchase from a couple different sources but all in all have been very pleased with used ProV1's. Like goatbarn, usually buy boxes of 50-100 at a time. Best value.

I'm still going to give the Kirklands a try.........have heard nothing but good things about them.(When available)

I decided to see what all the hype was about and bought a couple. I've used ProV1x, Snell (which was my most recent gamers), Callaway soccer balls, you name it. These balls are definitely legit. And for the price point as said you can't beat it. I have not played them outside yet since it is so cold, but I don't think I will have a problem using them outdoors either. I'm sure Costco is LOVING this social media hit. They can't make enough of them.
