  • Vulnerable Garage Door Opener

Any bets how long it will live with only right hand players.

I had the same worries - so far so good though. I was even considering replacing my overhead opener w/a screw drive type.

That is why I've been eyeballing one of these like JJ62 is talking about; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BS28SP8/

I've had a similar setup for years. No problems with right hand golfers of any height. It's actually kind of an advantage as the lifter lights are kind of right over the hitting area The only downside is it did limit the type projector used to very short throw type as the opener is right in line with the center of the cage/mat/screen. If I ever have to replace the lifter I'll take a look at the side mount type.

I eventually changed my whole door for a roller door - after my mate hit my new Taylor Made driver off of one of the runner rails.
Purely cosmetic damage - but it gave me a good excuse to upgrade to a new M1 when they came out!!

After about getting a free face lift / nose job by a rocketing back ball that came back off the top screen bar of my cage that door opener is the last thing l'm gonna worry about. Hit with a driver to boot. Holy smokes was it fast! Could have been a real ugly the Friday 13th.

A friend of mine hit his opener and snapped the head off of his ping g25 driver. He had been swinging in the room for a few weeks without issue then bam!
