  • "New" Demo Clubs

Looking for some advice here. Am looking to replace/upgrade an old fairway wood (shaft has become too flexible almost to Ladies flex). Been looking online looking for new or almost mint condition Titleist 915F (because I currently use the 915D2 driver). Been shying away from used clubs esp online (as not sure how it was cared for, etc.). But have seen a lot of 915F's with the red and black velvet demo grips on them but claiming as "new" or "used" but rated "10 out of 10 - Club is in new condition: These clubs/iron sets have never been previously played." And some of these are from reputable online golf shops.

    So am wondering:
    1) Are Titleist authorized retailers allowed to sell demo clubs?
    2) How can demo clubs be claimed as "new" or "used but 10/10 and never been played" when they clearly must have been hit with (albeit maybe with tape on clubface) for demoing purposes (though some of these clubs still have the plastic covering on the bottom of clubhead)?
    3) Do demo clubs come with the same warranty as new Titleist clubs?

And lastly, do Titleist warranty only apply to purchases from authorized Titleist retailer or can be any retailer as long as it was purchased new (and you register the club with the corresponding serial number accordingly after purchase).

Thanks in advance as these supposedly "new" demo clubs have gotten me confused a bit.

The can sell demo clubs but most places do not.

At the course I play at, they have two complete demo sets. One of them was used once, one still had the plastic on them. I have seen demo's that were hit a handfull of times indoors on a simulator or into a net that you would never guess they had been hit before.

If they are an authorized retailer they should still have a warranty provided you get a valid receipt.

You would probably need to check with oem, but i think if they are marked demo there is no warranty. Based off two previous buying experiences at two different locations. This was quite some time ago though.

Thanks for the info guys. I went ahead and bought a new non-demo one. Though the demo "used but 10/10 and never been played" club was quite attractive at ~60% of the price of the new non-demo one.
